i received a call from this 2 no. 888-841-2933/888-406-1222. They said they are calling from Microsoft and took remote control of my computer. I am a 80yr old man. They set some kind of password on my computer called Start up password. so i called them back and they said they need $200 to fix it up and asked me t grab itunes card. i purchased and give them but still they didn’t provided me the password and they asked me to grab $1000 itunes card. I have very important pictures in my computer and i need that. Kindly help me
@harrysmith#17471 Im sorry to hear that. I have been dealing with lots of scammers and they always do this to my virtual machines. I don’t know if there is much that I can help you with, but you could try to guess the password. Usually it is bhenchod, 12345, terimakichut, 09876, 1234, and many other simple codes, just keep trying more codes. I know a method to try to fix this problem by booting a usb drive with an application called passcape and reset the syskey password aka startup password. There are many videos on youtube that can show you how to do that with passcape. Well I wish the best of luck to you and to your computer.

Even though I was late to reply but you should never trust any numbers that say toll free
why on earth would you fall for this? always look up official company numbers so you know if they are real or not…
i understand now and thank you guys for the reply. But they are still calling me and saying my wife have a problem with the network. I know they want more money. One of my friend keep calling them and they are not answering his phone. Can you guys please help me to keep call them and make them frustrated with it. Abuse them
@harrysmith#17535 tech support scams primarily target the ignorant and the elderly. Never trust any call claiming to be from Microsoft etc. Especially if they have boiler room noises and accents.
@harrysmith#17471 ok so first tell me if you let them take control
Try restarting your computer
@cooldog83#17564 or calling like Microsoft
i just received the call again from scammers 758-965-8556.
