Extra Info: I received a call from a spoofed phone number that had my local area cod in it. A message was left on my message machine as I did not answer. The first half of the robo message was not audible but I heard the end of the voicemail message about pressing ZERO to cancel the renewal subscription OR calling (319) 284-6246 to cancel the renewal subscription.
I called back the (319) 284-6246 and spoke to an Indian woman or a foreign woman for sure. She explained that it is about the “computer subscription” for $299.00 that I can cancel. I asked her to cancel it as I do not want to renew the computer subscription, but she did not have me go to a particular URL in my browser but instead said that a “senior” technician will call me back (to my TextNow number but she does not know it is my TextNow number) and the “senior” technician will direct me to where I go to get on their “secure” server to complete the REFUND FORM.
I have not received a call back yet and therefore I do not know the URL to the web page that they use to get onto a potential victim’s computer.
