9568844276 is the hangouts number, reportedly from Pharr, tx, or mexico, or india. I got three hits for this number, 3 different locations. I talked personally to the individual calling himself Agent Harrick Rockwell; and sometimes referring to himself as friend of mine named Jim from facebook. I called Jim, he confirmed my suspicion by telling me that his facebook account was hacked.
The scammer says that I have a check for 200Grand, but that he needs my 1000 dollars before the check will be sent out to my home address. He has my information, common info, and I’m worried that my info may be used against my financial life. I’d really like to put a stop to this person. I’m thinking about driving to the area and confront the culprit in person. I may simply call a friend in the neighborhood of phone number to see if i can get any satisfaction. Very intrusive and rude person on phone.
Why is it a TextNow number?
I did some more checking, some sites list number with AT&T, an another site lists reported number with Bandwidth.com. I had to run an errand, but am back now and continuing to gather information on this culprit.
