Additional information about this scam: Scammers impersonate Chase Bank and falsely claimed the recipient received a “verification call from their Verification Server” regarding the “purchase of a $499 gift card purchase at Walgreens in Dayton, Ohio.”

  • As this is a “hacking issue,” users are asked to “connect to the security server of Chase” by “opening the Google Chrome” and downloading SupRemo.
  • Once remotely connected, I was asked to type my name and contact information before the bhenchod introduced himself as “Jessica Singh (Batch ID: 2018-947)” with a random T-Mobile number as contact information.
  • I was then asked to run a “scan on my network and my identities” with the “netstat” command in the Command Prompt before falsely claiming 50% of my IP address was compromised with the “tiny banker trojan,” leading to “98 unknown connections being found on my online banking.”
  • In order to “get rid of the hackers,” “Jessica” attempted to search for my exact IP address, so I ended the conversation and I started from scratch with “Lisa” and was asked to install AnyDesk before being called a motherfucker.
