On November 20, 2025, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in India arrested Vikas Kumar Nimar for operating several scam call centers that targeted American citizens. Kumar had been on the run after a case was registered against his operation, VC Infometrix Private Limited, on September 24, 2024.
Nimar was arrested at his Lucknow residence, with police seizing $15,706.71 in rupees, cell phones and other incriminating documents. Police also dismantled a call center of his, seizing 52 laptops containing substantial incriminating evidence during the raid.
