On August 25, 2025, the Central Bureau of Investigation in India (CBI), in coordination with the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), raided and dismantled M/s Digikaps The Future of Digital in Amritsar, Punjab for facilitating Microsoft technical support scams against American nationals, stealing over $40 million in the form of cryptocurrency.
34 individuals were detained, with 3 primary accused arrested: Jigar Ahmed, Yash Khurana and Inder Jeet Singh Bali. Police have also seized 85 hard disks, 16 laptops and 44 cell phones during the raid.
That same day, the CBI also arrested Arjun Prakash, the director and kingpin for Firstidea Solutions Private Limited, at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi as he attempted to flee to Kathmandu, Nepal. Prakash’s company was also known for facilitating Microsoft technical support scams, but against British and Australian nationals.
