Scam Number: 408-844-3608
Additional information about this scam: This call was received 5/18/2024 at 10:59 from Telephone Number: 408-844-3608. The female caller trying to sound official, claimed to be Cash App and asked if I had made a claim. She disconnected the call before I could respond so I called the number and it went to MagicJack VM.
MagicJack line, “Rosalyn” answered as “Cash App support.”
She is trying to connect to my phone using Iperius Remote…
Her number was reported after she claimed association with the FTC who notified them to call me, where she asked if I had made a claim. There was more said but I am limiting this because of the report that I have submitted.
I have the reply from MagicJack after I reported this number. Here is the report as well. A woman called me at 10:59 Central Time and claimed to be Cash App, they had been notified by the FTC and asked if I had tried to make a claim yet. This call disconnected shortly after I asked what she was talking about where she started making threats about having me and my family killed, ‘taking all of my money’ or ‘putting me behind the bars’ if I didn’t pay the costs without filing a claim that they have paid on my behalf - Nothing she said made any sense and she rapidly got upset. I called the number back out out of curiosity and it went to a M-J voicemail where I left a colorful message. We do not use Cash App so this was apparently extortion and fraud with misrepresentation by claiming to be Cash App (not with Cash App) and claimed an association with the Federal Trade Commision. She called XXX-XXX-XXXX which is also registered on the US Federal Do Not Call list. Please deactivate this device or however these people use your service.
