Carlos Wilkerson ARRESTED for facilitating "Jury Duty" scam

On May 11, 2025, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama arrested 35-year-old Monroeville resident Carlos Terrill Oneal Wilkerson for facilitating a “jury duty” scam by calling victims under the guise of “Sheriff Banks Hinceman,” threatening to arrest them on the grounds of missing jury duty unless they pay him $6,000. Deputies have since charged him with:

  • Obtaining property by false pretenses
  • Extortion
  • Misdemeanor impersonation of an officer.
