(This thread will serve as a catalogue of any and all Call Haven Partners toll free numbers that the authors of this report may find in the coming days. Screenshots and other evidence of such toll free numbers being used to run technical support scams will be included, when available.)
. Background:
Call Haven Partners, is a Telecommunications service provider in Simi Valley, California that specializes in lead generation services, traffic monetization, number sales, leasing and number housing.
Although their business doesn’t seem to be aimed at strictly being a VOIP provider, the team responsible for this thread has recently seen a sudden surge in the amount of technical support scams that are using toll free numbers on the Call Haven Partners network. The scammers responsible for these technical support scams operate out of call centers in India.
. Communication Records:
Several emails to [email protected] (the only email address located on their official website) have been sent to Call Haven Partners, informing their support team that their toll free numbers are being used to run tech support scams. Those emails included screenshots of the aforementioned scams that are being used to advertise the toll free numbers, along with additional evidence. Those emails have since gone unanswered.
The team currently has just one confirmed response from the Call Haven Partners support team, asking that the team provide evidence/examples of fraud on the reported toll free number. (see response below)
Upon receiving that response from Call Haven Partners, a screenshot of the tech support scam website that was advertising the toll free number on the Call Haven Partners network was sent to their support team. No further updates or responses were received by the team after submitting evidence to Call Haven Partners via email.
Further emails to Call Haven Partners in regards to reporting tech support fraud on their network have also gone unanswered. (see records below)
. Possible Explanations For Lack of Action:
The team responsible for this thread would like to make it clear that they do not believe that Call Haven Partners is a scam telecom, nor are do they believe or imply that Call Haven Partners are intentionally selling toll free numbers to scammers in India with the knowledge that their toll free numbers would be used to run tech support scams.
The team behind this thread believes that the lack of action can be summed up to Call Haven Partners being primarily focused in lead generation and traffic monetization services, meaning that such toll free numbers that are supplied to their customers are meant and intended to be used for the aforementioned practices and services.
It is entirely possible that this may be the first time that Call Haven Partners has ever had to deal with this type of fraud on their network. If that is the case, Call Haven Partners could very well be unequipped to deal with such cases.
The team responsible for this thread has seen scammer organization groups, with hopes of keeping their scam campaigns active for as long as possible, jump to obscure and lesser known telecoms when the large and more established VOIP providers, liker Bandwidth, The Real PBX and Vonage, take action against the scam traffic on their networks when emailed.
Scammers pay a price for those campaigns. Everytime a toll free/non toll free number assigned to such a campaign gets shut down for fraud, the scammers lose that money and any potential profit to be made off of victims. (No refunds are given)
Call Haven Partners may sadly be another telecom that has become a victim of this behavior by scammers.
