Automated computer voice called from UK (Birmingham) number +44121422083 saying something along the lines of they are from BT Openreach and that my IP address was being abused and needed to be changed press 1 to talk to an advisor. When connected Indian girl asked about computer and got me to click run and type btopenreachsecurity-com.webnode.com which I said popped up lots of scammer warnings. Then she slowly and painfully talked me through downloading from www.anydesk.com (remote control tool) and managed to establish a connection when I gave her the 9 digit number AND entered the password she gave. Then cut her off as I got a works call that interrupted my session. They tried ringing a few times more.

Must have upset them now getting multiple attempts from number 00121248416523 unsure but think that is in the US somewhere.
If this is the same crowd that called me (and it sounds like they are), they always use a spoofed UK caller ID. I haven’t managed to find out who they are or get any live number to call them on. I seem to remember one of jim browning’s videos showed the inside of one of their PCs with files suggesting that they targeted UK and Australian victims by pretending to be either Openreach or Telstra. I must look for that again.
