On February 13, 2026, the Suffolk County Police Department in West Babylon, New York arrested 31-year-old Queens resident Brandon Naire and 31-year-old Brooklyn resident Oral Durloo for facilitating a Publisher’s Clearing House scam, where
- The scammers would call their victims, in this case a 92-year-old male, falsely claiming they had won $18 million in a PCH sweepstakes.
- In order to claim his “prize,” however, the victim will be asked to pay over $250,000 in “taxes” via paper checks.
The two have since been charged with 2nd-degree grand larceny, a Class C felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison and fines of over a half a million dollars.
