BobRTC Report as broken

There are a lot of numbers on BobRTC that are broken. There should be a button on the website to report it as broken.

Yeah I know. I just have a notepad of numbers that are not working so I don’t dial again. Then a list of numbers that are.

All of the phonebook sorts presently go by when a scammer's phone system picked a call up (that does not mean that the line was put through to a human being. It just means the call was picked up). This shoves dial cards up to the top when the PBX at the other end of the line responds.

We added a Fresh Numbers category that shows new numbers that were entered today into the Phonebook--which represents numbers we have never seen before.

However, calling any scammer between the hours of 7PM-9AM is going to be a mixed bag. Most of them won't answer. I'm assuming because the OP wrote this post around 7AM New York Time it would make sense why most of the numbers do not work. A few of the tech support scammers are now up, and you'll start getting lots of numbers working after 10:30AM (the IRS/SSA shows up later in the morning)

For real-time feedback (buttons you can click on to indicate what the scammer is doing... like endless hold, scammer is answering/not-answering, scammer-is-angry)... this feedback could be used to filter the dial cards but it comes at a price:

Scammers will pounce on this feature and proceed to start marking every number they can get their grubby little hands on and mark them all bad.

We can put in a blanket XP requirement to even get access to feedback, but it would have to be a low XP score because most people on BobRTC right now are hovering around the 200s-300s. But for a scammer that is trying to get the calls to stop coming they will likely have an Indian sit there and just dial until they can reach the limit so they can proceed to submit trash reports.

Being able to hide shit on the phonebook (and the phonebook is BobRTC's biggest vulnerability) is a priceless commodity. Particularly to scammers who have already received 13,000+ telephone calls from us. They don't want that number in the book. If being able to trick you into hiding it is the next best thing, they'll gladly take advantage.

We might have to limit a feature like this to only being granted by hand upon request, and then feedback reports should "fade", maybe only for a couple hours.

In the meantime I will see about placing an advice bar up at the top of the phonebook screen when we are during off-peak hours. We also have a pending feature to "pin" cards to the top which are known to be 24/7 scammers. During off-peak hours we probably should move all those dial cards to the top of the screen so you have something that can be dialed that is likely to be answered. If your XP is high enough we should probably also relocate all the non-USA numbers to the top (cost is 3C/minute to talk).

@kenzo#102017 Thank you. Adding “pin” for 24/7 scammers excellent idea.

@1888TechLineOfficial#102011 No, they really are broken. I called more than several of those numbers during “business hours” and almost none of them work. So I stopped using that thing completely, sorry.

@OutboundOperator#102038 I just made one random click and I got this one that’s working:

@OutboundOperator#102038 This one is also working

https://bobrtc.live/phonebook/dial/13476097189

@kenzo#102047 That one is ringing busy right now.

@kenzo#102045 This attempt went to a voicemail. This is an every day thing for me lately I just can’t get any calls to share with you guys.

@OutboundOperator#102072 if we’re having this much trouble finding a live hot during daytime peak we must be causing some serious damage.
