BobRTC isn’t working

Whenever I try to call a number it just says “connecting” for a few seconds and then it says hung up, for every number I try to call. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

@Gibnez#104311 did you connect your mic? Does the browser have access to it / did you grant access? Which browser / OS are you using?

@Gibnez#104311 It sounds like you haven’t granted the website access to use your microphone. Depending on what web browser you’re using, the menu that report’s whether the site can use your microphone or not should be accessible from the very left most of the address bar. If the site already has access, I suggest looking in BobRTC preferences to make sure at least one device (or the one your currently using) is selected. If all the menu options are blank, choose one and try dialing anyway, keep cycling through them and one should hopefully work.

@Norm_Harrison#104321 Would I be able to use it on a mobile phone?

@NeeP#104318 Would I be able to use it on a mobile phone?

@Gibnez#104337 yes but iPhones are not supported due to restrictions made by Apple / iOS. Android / Chrome should be working just fine.

@NeeP#104338 Yep, that’s the problem, I’m using an iPhone. Thanks for the help!

@Gibnez#104343 NeeP is correct, although we don’t list anywhere that iOS devices are supported, personally I was able to successfully place a call using a iPhone 5s via Safari on iOS 11. You must use iOS 11 or later as thats when support for webRTC was added. Although the call connected successfully, the website was not able to use my microphone. However, I believe if you connect an external microphone (via the headphone port) and use the devices built in speakers for listening to audio, it should work, although no guarantees. Best of luck.
