Bob RTC mods have lost their mind

So I have two different discords accounts. Today I was contacted by one of the Bob RTC mods who tried to say I was injecting numbers into their system which I don’t even know how that would work. Then he says that he was going to take away my ability to post numbers on Bob RTC. Fair enough if that’s what he believes I was doing. But once again let me reiterate I did no such thing I’ve been at work all day. But then he decides to take all of my call tokens and XP that I have earned. I personally think this is a person that has taken his mod powers way too much to his head.

also in case you didn't know Bob RTC gets a kickback from every toll free number that you call That's why they give you call tokens so in turn I have earned money for Bob RTC and they just ripped my call tokens away from me. That seems like a legitimate way to do business. at this point I feel like they are no better than the scammers we are trying to protect people from.

Robot

It has a reason why they don’t accept numbers by you anymore. The team of bobrtc is trying their best and put much work in it.

I didn’t do anything wrong so not taking numbers for me is not right. Plus taking all my call tokens is ridiculous

Why should the bobrtc team lie and ban somebody?

No clue , I know is I was at work and an account that I don’t have access to at work. Was accused of being used to do something malicious. Wasn’t not . I could have avoided the whole situation by saying the second account didn’t belong to me. But I’m not a liar so I said it did because it does.

And the funny thing is is they said that they weren't going to ban me . But they might as well have. Taking all the call tokens is pretty much the same thing.

@Botvernichtung#121325 I had Kenzo rant about a conspiracy that DVR teamed up with a troll for several days. The BobRTC team are not well, the recent account verification requirements shows that their paranoia is increasing. To increase growth, the focus should be on increasing usability. In my opinion they should make it so calling verified scammers via toll free numbers requires no registration/account.

These increased security measures would only be if the platform itself is suffering security issues, claims such as 'injecting numbers' confirm this. I would say that increasing the amount of your data that BobRTC and some if it's abusive/paranoid staff have access to is a bad idea right now.

Hey Robot.

Unfortunatally this is an automated process when the java-script is modified client side. It was likely one of your addons on firefox or chrome (or whatever browser you used, we dont log that information) that triggered it. We made it less sensitive for false positives and it shouldn't trigger again for you (or anyone with your setup). If it does, please reply to this thread.

This is an example addon that used to trigger the account lockdown but has been fixed ~ 1 month ago.
All your tokens have been returned, and we talked to you about this.

bobhasAvirus has some good points about toll free calling. Any and constructive feedback is welcome and wanted. Thank you.

You are noticing that we have spent many hours adding far stricter controls to BobRTC. In this particular instance, two calls coming from your 2nd account were detected dialing numbers that are not in the BobRTC Phonebook. When we took a closer look, you weren't attempting to dial a number that a moderator recently removed.

This particular tripwire was added to stop Javascript injection on the dialpage. We can detect when you do this and instead of dialing the number, we redirect you to an internal extension that will not get to the outside. Then we alert the entire Phonebook Moderator team when this occurs.

Out of the 43,000+ phone calls we handled today, your second account was the only one that attempted to dial numbers that were not in the phonebook.

You also stated to me that you know nothing about computers.

Deeveeaar was banned from BobRTC because his team were entering phone numbers of medical providers that are legitimate, in this case they were entering telephone numbers of drug rehabilitation clinics. This action was wrong for them to do and they abused their positions of trust. This was the last violation of a string of wrongheaded moves by this team.

Deeveeaar and two members of his Discord team were all once Phonebook Moderators of BobRTC. They repeatedly abused their position of trust while you were on your 7th month hiatus. You only got to see the latest stunt they pulled.

If you want to spread FUD about BobRTC, be my guest. Nobody cares. If you don't care for BobRTC, spend the money, use your credit card, crack open an Asterisk manual and go get a VOIP account.

No one who develops on BobRTC is interested in propping up petty little fiefdoms, whether it be content creators or holier-than-thou ne'er-do-wells.

Before anyone has a chance to read/respond, I’ll make my motives plain in public as I have to the dev team and the moderator team on BobRTC.

BobRTC is a service to the scambaiting community. Those who believe in it as well as those who work on it have a shared goal--to make it a resource for the scambaiting community.

I as well have others have done plenty of free work for some of you YouTube creators and I have personally donated money to several YouTubers. Yet it's annoying when someone who gains a position of trust even when given all of these gifts completely destroys it. That seems to be a recurring theme. Nobody on BobRTC wants to go through that again.

Further, all of the attacks on BobRTC's infrastructure and software since we launched have not come from any scammers, but from our own community---other scambaiters. We have had to stop feature development for the last several months so the entire team could work on admin and more defensive programming just to deal with the crap coming at BobRTC from other scambaiters.

When this project was founded, we did not want to be co-opted by any of the 1000+ scambaiting fiefdoms that exist in this super-fragmented community. We were not operating under any delusions that BobRTC would become a unifying force in scambaiting, but this service has to exist in some sort of neutral space.

It was our mistake to pair too closely with YouTube creators who also scambait, given how toxic those types of scambaiters are to each other. One of our devs was "punished" by one YouTuber for having the audacity to chat with members of another YouTuber's Discord. For this crime he was treated like shit and with severe disrespect. For no apparent reason. Other members of our development staff and also our mod team have also been similarly shat on.

During most (not all but most) of those episodes we looked the other way and we continued to provide service even after the foul treatment.

That ends today. Going forward we are going to be just as harsh as you would expect admins to be on any scambaiting Discord server. Complete lack of basic respect to our moderator staff or to the dev team and lying to us is more than enough to see the loss of your account or to have your call tokens and XP wiped to zero.

BobRTC is a special resource in the scambaiting community and we want to try to keep it going. If other scambaiters don't like our shop, crack open a compiler and build one. We did it. It was easy. For us.

Seems an appropriate conversation title to post my experience today. So I used BobRTC happily for 2 months, then went 4 days without any use. I try to connect to BobRTC and suddenly see verification screens with vague references to pass codes, pass keys, SMS messages to my phone. Sorry, I haven’t the patience to sort it all out, as it makes no sense to me. I’m outta here…

I really didn’t appreciate the first conversation I had with one of the moderators. but whoever the second person I spoke to last night I really enjoyed the conversation with them they seemed to want to listen to what I had to say and try to understand where I was coming from. In the end I got my tokens back I’m still not able to post numbers to the website. they said that the numbers I had posted in the past turned out not to be scammer numbers. Which I don’t understand because I call all the numbers before I ever posted them and I talked to the scammers. I’m not sure if Bob RTC realizes that scammers sometimes forward their calls to other numbers when they’re not scamming

@kaliban48#121381 I’m sorry that this is enough to sever your use of BobRTC. There are alternatives like FireRTC or Google Hangouts that you can use to call scammers with.

@Robot#121395 out of 42 numbers that you added 34 have been removed. That’s a 80% removal quota. That scammers sometimes forward their calls to other numbers may happen but during my scambaiting “career” I haven’t seen that happening very often. Certainly not enough to justify such a high number removal quota of yours.

I have checked some of the numbers you've added and there was no real proof for them being legit but also none for them being a scammer number. If you add a number to BobRTC, please also create a scammer.info forum post where you post the website or popup of the scammers so that we can find the evidence of them being a scam and judge upon that evidence.

@NeeP#121421 well I’m just telling you I verify every number before I ever posted them so I know that they belong to scammers.

@kenzo#121374 Thank you. we are so fortunate to have available this powerful tool BobRTC which I am sure is making a big impact in fighting the scammers.

I just LOVE BOB RTC. I’m fully blind. And I use a screen reader. Yes. And BOB has saved me a lot as a blind screen reader user. I don’t want to post numbers yet because I think it comes with experience and time. But the soundboard is a great wasting tool for them and I just love that this service is inclusive to people and their abilities to use it. Verification makes sense to me, but I just haven’t bothered with it because blind people can’t use Discord that well accessibly. It kind of sucks with screen reader support. But I understand why the process is there and would respect the mods
