Additional information about this scam: This is a 2 step scam… first someone calls with a legitimate caller ID from Bank of America to notify that a fraudulent account has been opened and money sent to Houston via Zelle. They then give you a number to call Zelle and clear up the issue, they also provide a claim #. On the Zelle side they have fluent, no accent people answering the phone…
I didn’t get very far and they hung up and blocked me. Let’s shut this one down. The claim # BOA 34686-5 is what they gave me. I tried from another number and gave them this claim and they hung up again, so they are tracking their numbers. I then tried making up one and they said they don’t have that number on file… so they are pretty sophisticated as scammers go.
Yes I agree with you @Mack Daddy both agents sound as is the are Americans but only got a far as discussing my Zelle account before they hung up. Sound a busy office.
When I call I get EMMANUEL SOSA? Press “1” and it circles back asking to press “1”.
Yea I got the same thing
