Additional information about this scam:

This person claimed to be from Bank of America. I know that’s not true because they asked for my scambaiting alias name. I made up a name, and all related info for these scammers, so I’m sure that’s on some database. He told me there had been fraudulent activity on my debit card  He even sent me a fake security code via text, so I would feel more “secure.”

I verified my fake debit card number, and he didn’t question it, which was really weird. I thought that would have been the end of the call, but nope. He asked for the expiration, so I gave that (fake too) He never asked for the 3 digit code on the back of the card. He asked my mothers maiden name, also made up. I know he was phishing for things he can use.

I’m going through chemo right now, so I said I felt sick, and had to hang up. He called back 5 times, but I never answered. He had to know everything I gave him was fake, right? I’ve watched a lot of scam baiting videos, Kitboga, etc., and I know these guy are catching on to scam baiters.

In any case, I was able to waste almost 30 minutes of his time, mostly because I kept putting him on hold to take other calls. That’s the longest I’ve ever been able to string one of these bozo’s along. I’m proud of myself.

I really want to talk to a SSN, IRS, or FBI scammer.

He had to know everything I gave him was fake, right?
They may of ran those details into some credit/debit card checker to see if it’s legit, if you give them bogus info and the info comes up as fake then they may hang up.

In any case, I was able to waste almost 30 minutes of his time, mostly because I kept putting him on hold to take other calls.
That’s awesome! glad you wasted their time. You may of saved a victim or two. Congrats on the personal best record.

But he didn’t, though, which was so weird. He got the whole card number about 10 minutes into the call, after he sent me the text to make me feel better. He never even asked me to re-verify the numbers after that.

I wish I were well enough to use a VM and really mess with them.

This is a known, very old Publishers Clearing House number which I have dating back to Wednesday, 29 December 2021, which began life being answered by this character.
8004321000 PCH Steve Taylor
It morphed to the B of A scam which is still current when my dialers revisited it on this date
Thursday, 19 January 2023
8004321000 PCH Steve Taylor/ now B of A (active since Wednesday, 29 December 2021)

I hope someone can call that number and see if they answer as BOA today. I wonder if they would only answer as BOA if I were to call them back tonight.

I can’t ever remember anyone answering.
It’s always been a leave a message thing from memory.
I make tens of thousands of calls a day flushing these vermin out of the shadows and known haunts, I couldn’t possibly remember anything un-event worthy.

This is the text he sent me before he started calling me as a BOA number on my caller ID.
