My husband received this text (from the link) and immediately went ahead and called the number. He thought it was sus (had an Indian accent and everything) so he dropped the call and informed his bank right away. I just told him to lock his account anyway, just to be safe.
Anyway, just sharing their number and text received for anyone else that might’ve experienced the same thing.
BOA scam that turns into an SSA scam, apparently they will provide you with a new SSN and they will ask you to send all of your money to your “new” bank account (they will give you their bank account or will send the money to a money mule)
