Bail scam

So someone called my grandma who is several states away and tried to convince her that my college brother (her grandson) had gone to a funeral in Ohio (several more states away), and went to dinner afterwards, where he got drunk and crashed his car. They said the person talking was my brother and that he sounded weird because he broke his nose in the accident. Then the “police station” tried to get my grandma to “pay his $500 bail” over the phone. she was smart enough to ask them to tell her his full name to which they hung up.

The number is 216 455 XXXX

I would put it on BobRTC but I don't have enough XP yet.

I haven't tried to bait the number yet either, because I am semi-new to this and don't have a safe way to call them back.

If anyone can make contact and confirm this is the scammer's number, please let me know.
This was a two person operation BTW. ("my brother" and the police station)

@Spam123Spam123#109173 I have removed the phone number because it currently leads to no one. And I have a strong feeling that it never did, as most scammers alter (or ‘spoof’) their caller ID before making outbound calls. Thank you for the information and explanation though.
