The ACCC in Australia publishes an annual report on scam activity in Australia. Their latest report is out and it makes for quite interesting reading.
One of the takeaways for me was how the kind of benchods typically targeted by scambaiters are pretty small beer in the scheme of things. Investment scams are by far the biggest earner for the scammers with dating and romance scams coming in second.
Maybe we need to be redirecting our efforts as these kind of scams generally operate relatively un-harassed.
