[Australia] Fake Telstra/NBN Tecnical Support

Hey All,

For the however manyeth day in a row now I have got calls from automated messages telling me there is something wrong with the NBN connection provided through Telstra.

For the second day in a row now - I have also managed to get them to allow me access via Teamviewer (several different scammer centres operating I believe with the same scam), quickly disabling their input and then going to town on deleting as many of their files as I possibly can (and before you ask - no I do not have video or audio because these calls always come through when I am trying to work on some of my current Uni stuff and I am caught unprepared - sorry bout that).

Website where they are sending potential victims to download Teamviewer (Version 5.xxx) and/or AnyDesk is:

www.telstra-technical.webnode.com

Whois Website Hosting Information for Website can be found here:

https://myip.ms/info/whois/178.238.47.21/k/1059646429/website/www.telstra-technical.webnode.com

Seems that Martin Kalenda is a well know scammer with his fingers in a lot of pies if a quick Google search is any indication.

I have sent an email with screenshot evidence to [email protected] asking that the site be taken down ASAP for whatever good that will do.

I have also contacted Telstra and reported the matter with them.

I also tried contacting the Australian Intelligence Criminal Commision as the called turned in an instant from being "Telstra" then transferred to Scammer#2 "I am from the AICC" and all the numbers on the contact page of the previously linked website are listed as legitimate AICC phone numbers ... unfortunately one has to report through ACORN here in Australia but there is no option to simply report fraudulent activity unless you've already been duped which I wasn't because I was toying with them in my Win 7 VM.

BTW: I would have provided a screenshot of the laughable looking website but I don't how and you can take a look for yourself as it is still up at this point in time being 4:50PM Australian Eastern Standard Time on 22/08/2019.

If someone could let me know how to post images, that would be awesome - cheers.

@ThatAussieBoganBloke#106031 looks like telstra-technical.webnode.com has been disabled

@AussieScamBuster#106038 Yeh mate - david jones I believe … I watch your channel on YT brother and have subbed and love your work

Just got an email back from webnode stating the following:

"We need to stress that Webnode is not the operator of this website but only offers our users the technical platform ... blah blah blah ... In cases of infringement or conduct contrary to our Terms and Conditions, we have the right to block these websites. The website mentioned previously is now inaccessible".

So a small victory there I guess but these (_!_) munchers seem to be smashing it here in Aus lately as I'm sure you'd agree AussieScamBuster/david jones so we have a lot more work to do - they are like freakin mushrooms but ... you rip one out and another 10 grow back try as we may.

It's entertaining and fun to f*!K with them anyways but to say the least so I'm sure yourself and me will continue to do so ... and even if we can save one old Betty down the road a few hundred bucks then I as well as yourself will be satisfied I'm sure.

Cheers Mate

perhaps not the outcome you hoped for, but still

lots of small bits accumulate to mountains.

setting up a virtual machine now ; )
