In order to “activate” the “promotion,” I was asked to pay six months in advance by calling their “billing department,” though “Adam” kept giving me an incomplete toll-free number that, to him, starts with 1.
- When “Adam” hung up, I got another scammer who insisted I got a text message after I told him I missed a call.
- I then got ahold of “Mark,” who asked for the four-digit PIN associated with my nonexistent AT&T account before saying I will receive a parcel containing a cell phone that needs to be activated from my end as a “new customer” before handing it off to a designated courier or money mule.
Basically, Rundis asking for their victims to cover for new American cell phones for them to scam with.
You cannot choose the new customer option without it hanging up.
