Are they Credit Card company?

I got a call from 888-344-6710 asking about my credit card last 4 digits and SSN four digits.
Not sure if they are real Visa/MasterCard.

I called them a few moments ago. No one quite explained why they wanted the last four digits of my card and my Social Security number.

Second call: I asked them why they wanted this information. Someone with an American-sounding accent said they were Continental Finance, and she is not sure why someone called me. Maybe it is legitimate?

Yes, they are a legit company. Maybe someone is spoofing them.

I think you are right. Someone spoofing.

They sure have a lot of complaints online.
I called, they asked for the last 4 of SS, last 4 of card #.
He asked for my phone number, I said " don’t you have caller ID?"
He replied “We aren’t allowed to have caller ID for security purposes”
He then said “I can’t find your information, can you give me the full 16 digits of your credit card number”
So… It’s a security concern if they have my phone number, but not a security concern that they have my full 16-digit credit card number.
But they do show as a legit company.

I’m not even gonna say anything… Based off this I think it’s safe to say it’s a scam and it’s just people impersonating, typical type. LOL.

Yes they are! It’s Continental Finance (VERVE credit card). I’ve been getting 3-4 calls per day for the last 3 days from +1 (888) 344-6710. I never pick up unknown numbers, but I got sick of it & called them back today. Their messaging system simply states they are “Card Services,” which couldn’t be more generic, and sounds rather scammy. An agent came on the line and asked me for my last 4 of my account # and SSN#. I said since I have no idea what company this was, I couldn’t possibly tell her my account #. She apologized and said they are Continental Finance, which I immediately recognized as being the carrier of my VERVE MC. I gave her the info, and she said they were all just courtesy calls reminding me of my payment amount & due date, which both were correct. I now have them saved in my phone…& if they harass me next month about my bill when I always pay on time, I will block them.
