I’ve been getting tons of scam calls from DirecTV scammers, always from different phone numbers in my area code. I assume they are spoofing their caller ID but a TCPA attorney I am working with says they must be real numbers or they would get flagged as “Scam Likely” by my phone. Who is correct?
It’s known as neighbor spoofing
using a random caller ID to make it seem as they are in your area code
Get a new attorney, this one doesn’t know a lot at all

They are spoofed numbers. Big majority of calls originate from Lahore Pakistan.
