Are sites like uyoutube and feecebook safe to view on my main PC?

I wouldn’t say so, they could end up redirecting to malware.

Never visit those sites on your host. Always use a VM. I recently had my windows 8.1 VM which isn’t updated get infected by visiting those sites. I got redirected to a site like this: 178.21.xx.xx/xxx.php . A whois search showed it to be in Russia.
