845-244-0296 – Really small operation. I think this is one guy. Very rude and claims to be Department of the Treasury from Poughkeepsie, NY. Yeah, right.

@JusticeinTexas#28764 Finally got through. He answered “This is Kevin Smith. How may I help you?” He hung up on my sound effects but it’s funny that he didn’t say who he was working for.

There is also a Brian Kotus (?) who works there. They sure take their time in picking up. It must have rang over 10 times before Brian finally asked how he could assist me!

@JusticeinTexas#28764 If you can believe it, these “Poughkeepsie” Poopieheads are STILL active as of 9:50 AM EST 5/1. Give them credit for their longevity!

Yup, now he is just answering Hello and not IRS. I only give them credit for being idiots and creeps. https://phone.firertc.com/calls/5ae875f674756326dee80000/recording

@JusticeinTexas#29304 I heard one of the two guys in the background talking about being an officer and that they owe money, so I’m assuming they are still attempting to scam people. In the meantime, I’ll keep on calling as much as I can to brighten their day.

@6flagsray#29306 Yes, we would not want them to have a bad day. I will try the Rodeo song next. I think I will tape George Carlin’s words you can’t say on TV, too, and use that one.

He answered but didnt say who he was from. He’s very quiet about who he works for and is clear its not the IRS or the US Treasury. He maintains a log of who was actually called and wont proceed further until you give him a number. I gave him his own number above, with a different area code, which made him look through the records.

He said maybe I'm confused and dont know my own numbers. I said maybe I'm trying to hold up the line for these fake IRS scammers...he said sir, do not call here again wasting my time and hung up.

@reportingscammers007#29329 Oh, don’t give up that easily!! Call on his own number till he blocks himself again.

@reportingscammers007#29329 Yeah, they have not mentioned who they represent on the initial pickup today. They just say “Thanks for calling, this is Brian Curtis (or however he pronounces it), how may I help you?” I just called on the landline and asked if this was the IRS and he said “no, this is the Office of Legal Affairs for the United States Treasury”. I said “RIght… I’m sure that’s exactly who this is.” He then asked why am I calling and I said “to waste your time”. He called me a m-f’er and hung up.

@6flagsray#29337 Oh, yes that sounds exactly how the Department for Legal Affairs for the Treasury would talk to a citizen.

And… they are STILL going this morning as of 9:16 AM EST. “Brian Curtis” said “you again???” Yep, it’s me MF’er and you are going to have a long day ahead if you keep your lines open…

@JusticeinTexas#29338 Wow, that is a long time for them to keep a number up. I wonder if it is because it is profitable for them.

@JusticeinTexas#29417 Well, I tried calling back and no luck. Perhaps that’s why someone downvoted me…

@6flagsray#29409 I called 14 times and got Brian and played HaHa and Burping. He finally went to answering machine so I left messages. Then somebody named Kevin Smith picked up and I played HaHa and he said Oh, you again M’fer and I said while playing HaHa NOPE! hahahahha You have more than one admirer out here who knows what you are. He called me all kinds of colorful names reserved just for women but I just kept playing Haha and yelling I CAN"T HEAR YOU! TRY HARDER TO HURT MY FEELINGS! He was ticked.

@6flagsray#29418 Somebody downvoted you??? How mean. I upvoted you so it got rid of that nasty.

@JusticeinTexas#29420 Yeah, I don’t get the downvotes. I’ve had 2 since I’ve been here and I would like to know the reason why. Is it because the number wasn’t active? OK, that’s fine, but why can’t they just post “Hey, number is down”? At some point all of the numbers we post will be down, but do we all get downvoted because of it?

I tend to take things personally. Since I've been here, I have tried to be a productive member of the board when I can. So if someone doesn't like me, more power to them. It's just a shame they can't actually tell me about it rather than being sneaky and downvoting. It's a similar thing on my amusement park-themed YouTube channel. 1700 subscribers, mostly positive reviews and "likes", but there are folks that just click the "dislike" button on a video without saying why. My videos are pretty generic stuff and I usually don't say a word on them. I let the footage do the talking. I don't know how that can get people so upset to dislike a video. But again, if that's the way they want to be- trolls that hide behind the anonymity of their keyboards, that's fine. I'll get over it eventually! :)

@6flagsray#29418 I called back another 9 times on their own number and now they are not answering at all with no message. I will try again later when they think they are safe.

@6flagsray#29421 I have been downvoted too. Haters will hate. Maybe they think you are doing a better job than they are. I learned a lesson when on stage. The first time I got up to sing I was told “Remember, 50 percent of the people in the audience are going to hate you before you open your mouth or play a note and they are going to hate you after you sing perfectly and play Lullaby of Birdland on the bass perfectly. There is nothing you can do to change it. They will hate you for your looks, your hair, your clothes, they will just hate you because you are up here and they are not” and that changed my whole attitude. I would never downvote anybody. If I don’t like something somebody says, hey, it is their opinion and right to say it. I just ignore it and you should too. You are clever and funny and give me great ideas. Meowsa!

@JusticeinTexas#29424 Very sound advice! :slight_smile:
