@GBFGilbird#131961 Like another user on the site, it seems like the person who called you altered their caller ID before placing the phone call, and hence, this phone number actually leads back to the headquarters of official Apple.

I have left the post up, but just removed the last 4 digit of the phone number.

These Apple impersonators have evolved, they spoof the caller iD with fake 800 numbers or Apple’s own phone number. Or worse, some random number that might belong to an innocent individual.

It pays to check first and make test calls before posting the "caller ID" number.

Or we could get lucky. They sometimes leave voicemail with their call back number. That's where we need to hit it fast after it has been verified. Hit it fast because it will be flooded and they'll be forced to change numbers.
