Falsely Claims:

Remote Access Software: ConnectWise or Alpemix (ID: 480207513)

Once remotely connected to my virtual machine, “Kevin” asked me to go to the “home screen of my phone” and log into my nonexistent bank account.

  • But since I don’t do online banking, I was repeatedly asked to purchase a Razorgold gift card, even after I pulled the “bank will freeze my account” bit.
  • As I had my voice muted, “Kevin” actually put my call in a conference with him and another victim who asked for “Michael Wilson” and had a negative balance.
    • The call also revealed that “Michael” remotely connected to the victim’s phone via ConnectWise
  • When asked to return the money, “Kevin” asked the victim to send $300 for “verification” via CashApp or by borrowing from others and handing it off to a designated courier or money mule.
    • As the victim was unable to arrange the $300, “Kevin” told him to hang up and never calll back again, indicating that every call made to them comes at a monetary loss.
