Once remotely connected to my virtual machine, the incredibly-deaf and incredibly-impatient “Mike” asked me to run the “tree” command in the Command Prompt so he can falsely claim my computer was infected with the Clampi virus.
- During the fake scan, “Mike” also repeatedly asked me if I do online banking, which I don’t, before hanging up the call on me but remaining connected to my virtual machine, allowing for the conversation to be moved to Notepad.
- Mike then once again asked for me to check my nonexistent bank account
- “Mike” then called me back once more so he can transfer the call to a co-worker posing as the “fraud prevention department” of my fake bank. When he asked for my bank’s “toll-free number,” I gave him the 24/7 Lenny Line.
- The IVR I was asked to follow as actually the scammer using their own cell phone, before I got ahold of “David Foster,” who was too deaf to provide “suppoat.”
- The call was transferred back to “Mike,” who then opted to pull the same “speak with your bank officer” shit, complete with fake cell phone IVR, only this time I got ahold of the incredibly-deaf “Ricky Morgan” whilst “Mike” disconnected from my virtual machine.
- “Ricky” then falsely claimed I had a $5,500 pre-authorized charge for a Russian casino and told me I need to go withdraw all the money from my bank account and purchase Apple “security cards.”
