These are super old, but it was something I am still super proud of. For a couple months in 2006 I made it my purpose to collect as many checks from scammers as I could. This was the result: a grand total of $1,143,910.57. These checks all could have gone to real victims, but instead, they went to me, saving a cool 1.1 million dollars from coming out of real victims’ pockets. Some were really interesting, too, such as the postal money orders (FYI scammers get SUPER MAD if you tell them you took them to get cashed at the post office and found out they’re fake) and two money orders that were legit money orders which we were able to have reversed back to the victim who sent them.
So yeah, nearly 16 years later, I still have and treasure these trophies from the great check blitz of '06.
