Scam Number: 325-326-6762

Additional information about this scam: Female caller said her name was “Anna James,” and that she was calling from “your cable company.” (The recording–and the SD card from my phone recorder–are on/in my other laptop, which I had to take to the shop this afternoon.) When challenged with “What’s my cable company?” she correctly said (maybe guessed) Spectrum.
I didn’t get to where I could say if it’s a refund scam or a “send a deposit for your new upgrades” scam, but I’m quite sure it’s a scam.
She was very insistent that I write down a bunch of stuff, such as how much they were going to save me on my monthly bill, and the callback number above. (The originating number was from my state, and of course was spoofed.)
I made her repeat the number a few times while I got it into SpoofCard on my cell phone. Ended up with a voicemail of “Miss James” saying no one was available to answer my call. I told her I got a voicemail at the number she had just given me, and I think that’s when she started to realize I wasn’t gonna fall for no Spectrum malarkey.
Several times when I call the number (a TextNow VoIP; Red Flag #1 in my book), someone answers who sounds a lot like her, but who insists “there’s no Anna James here.” A time or two she has said I had reached Spectrum, but this morning when I told her I thought all the background noise suggested she was in a call center, not at home as she claimed, her retort was “I have a lot of guests in my home,” and mine was "So why can I hear all your ‘guests’ saying “Hello? Hello.”? That was about the time she hung up on me.
In the initial call, I might have said something to her about Kolkata, but the more I listen to the outgoing voicemail message, the less I think she’s Indian. Could someone with a better ear for accents (and better hearing) give an opinion on her accent?

Thanks for the updates. Maybe I got the “the number you have called is not in service” recording because I called from a number I had used before, and which they had blocked.
I think it’s always going to go to voicemail, but I should leave a message that some dip$4¡† gave me the wrong address, and my $699.36 check got returned. I’ll tell them I don’t want my cable TV shut off, but I’m going to deduct the 36 cents off the check, because I had to buy another stamp.
