Carrier: Bandwidth.com
Call Center Location: India
Answers as: “PayPal”
Technician: “Peter/Jack”
Manager: “Peter Williams”
Falsely Claims: Account hacked to purchase Bitcoin
Remote Access Software: ConnectWise from ppl.help9.top (Nickname: “Secure Server,” Code: 1947563, IP: 172.67.134.186), an iFrame of bortra0907.chelokipotleify.icu (IP: 172.67.139.98 ) or UltraViewer (Nickname: “Robotic Server,” ID: 70937189/DESKTOP-GGQV8AS, 73390374/DESKTOP-RBTBM0AS)
I faked their ConnectWise download not working, so “Peter” had me install UltraViewer. Once he remotely connected to my virtual machine, he tried to get me to install ConnectWise once more before having me fill out a “cancellation form”
- I was then asked to log into my nonexistent bank account, but since I don’t do online banking, I was asked to search for my fake bank, then their ConnectWise download page. I refused to do either, and he proceeded to use the “robotic server” excuse and he promised to send a money mule to my address.
- I was then asked to call his manager, “Peter Williams,” on his personal Onvoy line (938) 207-0419 and “Peter” asked me to accept the refund through a debit card or PayPal. I told him I can only provide my card information on a secure web portal, and he proceeded to take me to a separate bank’s website.
- I was then asked once again to provide my debit card information over the phone, so he attempted to get me to log into PayPal once more to no avail, instead opting to hang up the call.
