On May 12, 2026, the Fishers Police Department in Indiana arrested 21-year-old Levittown, New York resident Anmolpreet Singh for facilitating a Social Security scam, where
- Singh would call his victims under the false personation of a federal official, threatening to arrest the victim unless they make multiple financial transactions totalling over $200,000.
- The victim will be asked to deposit money in a Bitcoin ATM, wire money directly to Singh and, in one instance, hand Singh $50,000 in-person.
Singh is currently being held on a $25,000 at the Hamilton County Jail and charged with theft between $750 and $50k.
