A group of scammers with American accents posing as “Comenity Bank”. They can’t get their story straight on where they are located. A woman on the phone just told me their headquarters are in Ohio despite the fact that Comenity’s real headquarters are in Utah. Every time I google the number a bunch of websites pop up calling it a scam.
Be warned, these guys are slick, they seem to be American and speak English fluently.
The automated bot who answers asks for an either 5 or 7 digit number but it will continue if you only type in one, which confirms to me that this is an illegitimate number.
I've called them about five times now and they've done everything they can to convince me they're a real business (ie. placing me on hold, rerouting me, etc). Every time I ask them how they'd feel if someone like them scammed one of their older relatives, they hang up on me. They blocked the first number I called them from after saying they were placing me on hold and redirecting me to HR.
They're slick, but they'll slip up if you start asking them about the real business they are pretending to be aka "Comenity Bank" they could not answer simple questions I was asking based off of Google's first page of results on the company.
