I just found out my grandfather got scammed out of $6,000 from a number claiming to be Amazon support.
Any idea what happened in the scam, called and talked about a “refund” hoping that was the scam and they didn’t bite. Any idea what kind of scam?
My guess is it is typical Amazon refund scam. Scammer tells that ther was an order for $2000 for Microsoft s Surface Pro(or iPhone etc) from a city where the victim does not live.The scammer persuades the cictim to login to victim’s bank account…

Pretended to be Amazon. Number listed on the email claiming that I had a $5,000 credit and that I ordered a 6,000 tv such I did not. Scam! Don't call that number. I think it tracks
