I’m calling now the (877) 374-0049 that you posted, @MajorLeeAwesome. Oh no, the menu options have changed!
They are very excited to offer a promotion! Are you or someone in your household 60 years or older?

Damn, they must be taking a break from Scamazon.

You typed the number wrong
It’s supposed to be

8773740049 Amazon support refund

877-374-0049 Jack Tuesday 5-9-23 3:30PM EST

They switched it to a medical alert bracelet spiel.

Yeah, that is what I got @Jhawk.

A number of years ago, a scam baiter from Bob’s site and who hung out in the Mosh Pit once told me that some toll-free numbers are not owned currently by only one company, but that Company A/Scammer Group A might pay to use the number for only a certain number of hours in a 24-hour day, and Company B/Scammer Group B pay to use the same number for only a certain number of hours in the same 24-hour day, et cetera. I do not know if this is true or not.

Interesting you should mention this @Hviezdoslav as I was just thinking of the variables of toll free #'s.

That is 100% correct
They rent numbers continually
I track thousands of numbers being rotated on a monthly basis
Sometimes they might lay inactive for 12-18 months and then are used again
some numbers are used every day or 2 days
some every week
I know every block of numbers they own and use, tracking their usage is very easy to do.

It would be cheaper for foreign scammers trying to scam Americans I would think. The foreign scammers are not running I am guessing 3 different 8 hour shifts in one 24-hour day. They can pay to use the number for only one or two 8-hour shifts respectively, and then some other group of people or some other company can pay to use that same number for only one 8-hour shift of the same 24-hour day when the scammer group is not working.

An example of numbers being recycled is this one today
This has been used five times in the last 3 months
It was active for ten days straight 6 weeks back
every time it has been a pornographic popup, going right back to when it was first used on Monday, 30 August 2021

8888032030 Microsoft tech support porno spyware popup

Wow @LordOfTheRings, these criminals are persistent.

877-374-0049 … What, I just called now this toll-free number and a foreign woman answered as Online Support! I asked what kind of support. She said “PayPal and Amazon” and I asked her, “What is your name, Miss”
Haha, she replied, “Feck off!”

Maybe when the scammers take a break or go to lunch/dinner, they switch the 877-374-0049 to have the PROMOTION spiel for medical alert bracelet. I do not know for sure what is going on, but it is interesting.

It has consistently been the refund scam on this number
don’t mix the 7 and 4 up because then it is a medical alert leadgen

yeah I did a repost on this, my bad. no one is wanting to pickup…
