@Jhawk#144398 Easily, and I mean EASILY confused this one was! Said the purchase was on the account associated with my mobile phone ending in “64”. Told him I don’t have a mobile (cell) phone. He said “No, the purchase was for a mobile phone”. Oh, that’s different! He asked me to confirm the purchase, and I said I didn’t make it. So he started in on the usual script and asked me if I had a desktop or laptop computer - when I interrupted him and said “I’m looking at my Amazon account right now and I don’t see any purchase”. He said that was because the transaction was on “Hold” until they got confirmation.` He asked me if I knew anyone in New Mexico that could be using my account, and I said I didn’t and that I was going to change my password right then. He said that would be a good idea, and jumped right into the “computer or laptop” query. I just acted like I hadn’t heard him, and said “Ok, so you canceled that order, right?”. He confirmed he had. “Well then, thank you very much for calling and notifying me - have a nice night”.
Way over his head at this point - he stuttered and tried to say something but was stuck on stupid. Then, I guess all he could think of was to go with the flow, said it was his pleasure and to have a good night as well, then I hung up.
He probably sat there for a minute trying to figure out where it all went so wrong ;)
@Otis#144429 He told me it was purchased in CHINA! I also told him we had no power from 2300 last night till now. Actually we had no power from 2300 to 0730 this morning because a transformer blew from it being so hot (110). He did not know what to do since how could he hook me up to his computer? Dummy. We have battery backups for our Wifi and cameras and alarm system so I had internet. You just cannot get them off their script.
