Had them on call, I was about to connect to my VM. Dad called and the number now goes to voicemail. RIP.
@drwat#142916 You ain’t kidding! Between all the background noise and the crappy phone system, I’m surprised they are getting through to anyone. I’ve hit them several times - tell them you don’t see any charge on your account and they go into melt down mode because it’s way too far off their script to handle.
@Otis#142920 Apparently, these guys are using the ‘free form’ method of picking a script ![]()
One guy told me that the $299 was to 'upgrade my profile' to a Prime account for 3 years. I told him that I already was a Prime member. Then he said "Yes sir, we noticed that you were already a prime member, and the $299 needs to be refunded back to you". I asked which account, as I have three - so he said the one that is associated with the phone number I was calling in on. I told him I was calling from a neighbors phone, not mine, and he hung up.
Another one told me that the $299 was for the purchase of some shoes! Some Red Nike Air Jordans or something like that. I couldn't help by start laughing at that one, then I asked the guy "Hey man, how long have you been a criminal trying to scam people". He said he had been doing it for 5 years, which I don't believe as he sounded really young. Then I laid into him about what was going to happen when Karma caught up with him, which kind of freaked him out - he said "No - don't do that - don't do that" an hung up.
Seems like a really unorganized setup, but I'm compelled to call again and see what other scripts they have.
@Otis#142932 Well stated
