Hello This call is from Amazon regarding the purchase of a gift card worth 77 dollars and 99 cents cents from your credit card on your out is on account in order to cancel this purchase dial
@drwat#132923 It went from one $77 charge to two $77 charges (from Germany!) that needed to be refunded! “That is why we were suspicious of the charges!!!”. Alex wasn’t messing around, and demanded that grandpa get a desktop or laptop - his iPad just won’t do. When that didn’t work, he just hung up and now won’t take my call.
Oh my, now they answer the phone cursing in hindi or some type language… so I cursed them back in spanish. “Huh? What???” Then I sprung a little bit of french on them and finally wound back up in english “cancel the charge” in a Darth Vader voice (and it really does sound exactly like Darth Vader!!). That pretty much dazed and confused the poor little rat, and he hung up.
@drwat#132943 (Four-Twenty 420 is a nick name for Indian fraudsters. Even a child in India knows the meaning of Mister-Four-Twenty) Hindi Chaar-Sou-Bees.
Good to know... 420 has a completely different meaning in the US, and it has nothing to do with fraudsters :-)
@Jhawk#132951 I generally use either Brave or Tor browser. Why do they push towards Chrome?
AFAIK, they like Chrome because it has the 'inspect element' feature (as does all Mozilla based browsers IIRC), which they typically use to manipulate numbers on your screen - while they blank you out from seeing them do it. If you watch any of the kitboga videos, you will see them in action doing stuff like changing bank account balances in an attempt to get you to think funds were actually transferred, when none actually have.
Never heard of Brave or Tor... but when I want to mess with them, I tell them that I either use Mosaic (original browser that started the WWW back in the early 90's), or to really screw them up, I tell them I use lynx, which is a text based browser designed to work on old character based terminals (also originally developed back in the late 90's but still in use today).
@Otis#132954 There is Indian Penal code 420 (carried over from British rule) that deals with fraudsters.
About 60 years ago there was a Hindi movie Shree-chaar-sou-bees (means Mister-four-Twenty). A very popular moving. From then onwards even Indian ids know what it implies.
Interesting, huh. Nigerial Penal Code Article 419 also has to do with fraud. My scambaiting dates back to 419eater.com days where we did it the hard way, using emails. Telephone and VOIP technology wasn’t as advanced back then.
In the USA, April 20 or 420 day is celebrated in the cannabis culture. It has a very interesting origin, not related to Penal Codes at all. Urban legend says a group of high school boys in San Rafael, California would meet at 4:20 after school to smoke pot, hence the association of 420 to marijuana. But that's just one version of the origin of 420. There are many variations, based on how high the story teller is.
