Amazon Impersonator 860-838-2481

They actually called my home landline and robo caller said a charge of $???.99 was made on my account and to call back 860-838-2481 if I did not make the order.

Talked to a Ronald; it was a very brief conversation because he did not like my asking him too many questions. I was over smart customer and he hung up.

Maybe you can have better luck with them :-)

Please help me out, this is the website they wanted me to go to:

https://amazon12.me/

How do we find who the host is or where can we report this obvious scammy website?

BTW, the number is now on BobRTC. It is a "busy" call center,.

@jaymee#160899 If you highlight on that site, every one goes to a remote access site. I’ll try an do some research on the host Jaymee. Another great find!

@Jhawk#160901 Thanks. Meanwhile, I reported it to [email protected]. For whatever it’s worth.

Reported refund form to google, that might or might not hinder them WHEN google takes it down.

Site is hosted by godaddy : https://www.godaddy.com/whois/results.aspx?domain=amazon12.me

Will email them tomorrow as it is late in the U.K. and hope for the best.

If not, I will report to all relevant browsers and antivirus engines, which will get it down eventually (as if the victims keep seeing a message that the webpage is marked as phishing by google, or is blocked outright, they may have second thoughts about the “amazon support”)

@Telescope#160907 The number is also flagged by Robocaller, which makes it a bit more difficult for them to ply their “trade”. The call center was buzzing. I asked the scammer what’s all that noise? He said this is the Amazon office, we’re busy talking to customers. That’s when I did the reveal, and said, you mean you’re busy scamming innocent people? He didn’t deny it, he said yes, we’re scamming stupid people. That’s how low they are.

@Telescope#160907 Hey already wrote GoDaddy…but they are another scammer friendly hosting service.

Copy and paste if you like!

Greetings GoDaddy Admins,

Please note that Indian scammers are using amazon12.me to impersonate Amazon and steal from unsuspecting victims.

Kindly remove this website from your hosting service.

Thanks!

@ScamChod#160926 Nice! I also have my own email template which I use to report domains as this one.

@jaymee#160925 I have had scammers asking if I am a “stupid American” before (Voice changer) and if I “have any money at all”.

Btw, the site says “call 1801-803-5253 for printer support”

Also, this may be the same gang as the people who had findmyorder.us - it seems to ring bells. Not entirely sure though.

@jaymee#160899 amazon12.me

Registrant State/Province: Rajasthan (India)

Registrant Country: IN

I wonder if they’ll still be using the same number on Tuesday.

@ScamChod#160926 GoDaddy…but they are another scammer friendly hosting service

They most certainly are!

Answering 11 AM EST today 1801-803-5253

GoDaddy has not taken down the site! Starting to report it to relevant organisations so the link will be marked as phishing/scam by browsers and AV engines.
