Extra Info: my friend just contacted me and said Amazon Fresh delivery was just made to her front door. She said she watched and no-one appeared. Then she said she was contacted that they had ‘delivered’ her goods to another address across town. She contacted Amazon Fresh and they told her the usual ‘it must be on your own, the mistake.’ When she threatened to contact FBI Fraud Center, within 5 minutes they refunded back to her, her gift card she had used to purchase her goods. This looks to me like a scam where they redeemed her card and led her on, thinking she was getting something when in fact, she never would. She was lucky, and it was not a lot of money she almost lost. How can this be prevented? What should anyone look for when ordering online from anyone?
Ok I’m a bit confused. So. Your friend placed an order on Fresh and it went to the wrong place? Did she go to Amazon Fresh through the app? Or did she Google it? And where did it end up? Pls clarify for me? Tyvm
Normally Amazon Fresh folks are very courteous. Seems some scam in this situation
No, it did not go anywhere. They told her she had an order being delivered. I don’t know how she ordered it. Then they said it was at her house. It wasn’t, because she was there waiting for it. Then they sent her another message saying it had been delivered to another address, and they told her it was “her mistake.” This is a usual scam pitch. Only when she called them back a few times and said she was reporting them to the Fraud Center where she lived, 5 minutes later they redeemed her amount.
@Luckylady welp this is def a scam. I shop Fresh weekly and I’ve never heard of that. If your friend wants to place an order, she should either do it through the app itself or type Carefully into Google. No typos! That could redirect her to a scam site. Do you have access to the emails/messages? The amazing people here could find out where these came from. Good luck, be safe, and don’t get hustled! Xo
It is a scam…I told her that was my assessment due to what happened. Unfortunately I have no access to her information. I can ask her if she still has the screenshots she kept. She may not have, but I’ll ask and see what number she called or how she ordered. That’s all I can do. Thanks for asking about this.
