HIGHLIGHTS FROM VIRTUAL MACHINE BAIT:
- The scammers answered as AllRoundFix, LLC, an IT service provider from Boston, Massachusetts according to their BBB listing. However, their LinkedIn profile lists an employee operating from Delhi, India.
- The scammers asked for my email address, then claimed my “order” was already cancelled. To ensure a proper bait, I faked being charged $169.99 without receiving the refund.
- The scammers then connected my call to “Matthew from the Billing Department,” who asked for my name, Invoice ID and the last 4 digits of my card.
The scammers were previously reported for impersonating AOL and McAfee under the leadership of Chandan Seth. One of their employees created the account @depan77359 to defend themselves as a “legitimate business” and claim that we were “defaming them.”
