On August 20, 2025, the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office in Fort Pierce, Florida arrested 63-year-old Aleda Jaynell Caldwell for serving as a money mule for a car wrap scam, where:
The scammers will send fraudulent text messages claiming their victims can get paid for wrapping their cars with ads.
The victims will receive a fake check and be told to keep some money and send the rest to an “installer” or “marketing agent.”
Caldwell. who also has active arrest warrants in Georgia for similar offenses that further tie her to a wider web of financial deception, has been charged with
She knew what she was doing and should pay for her crimes unless there are mitigating circumstances, such as she had her money stolen and was forced into this. The crime must still come with punishment.
