On August 14, 2025, the Pike County Sheriff’s Department in Illinois arrested Akhmet Kuzgov, a 27-year-old Russian national residing in Los Angeles, California for serving as a money mule for a Social Security scam, where
The scammers would send fraudulent text messages to their victims, in this case a 70-year-old male, falsely claiming there was a fraudulent transaction made on their Apple Pay account, urging them to call a designated “suppoat” line.
The agent who answers the call will transfer the call to co-workers who will falsely claim the victims’ Social Security Number was compromised and used for illegal activity.
In order to avoid being “arrested,” the victim will be asked to withdraw $40,000 from their bank account and hand it off to a designated courier or money mule who will pose as a law enforcement officer.
Once the payment is made, the scammers will demand another $40,000 from their victim.
Kuzgov is now being held at the Pike County Jail for theft involving over $10,000, and a federal warrant for his arrest was also issued by the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security. I presume this was because I was also able to trace his activities back to the Russian Federation, so I hope he enjoys GAUTMO!
He’s a Russian, I hope that he gets his ass beat and lives in fear every day in prison, until deported to most likely die on the Ukraine front walking over a landmine or kissing a drones payload.
I stand by my earlier comment, he a Russian thief and deserves very little besides pain and humiliation in a US prison, if he survives. I honestly don’t care if they take a bacon slicer and 80 grit sandpaper. I have lost my compassion for imported thieves. I believe every single one that came here to steal should have a dirt pillow.
