But when you buy tickets, you’ll be asked for the usual information — name, address, passport number, and credit card information — and even receive a legitimate-looking confirmation email.

Criminals use stolen, compromised or hacked credit card details to buy airline tickets . The criminals offer these tickets for sale at bargain prices via professional-looking websites or social networking accounts which appear to be for legitimate travel agencies or agents.

John Marshal and said he worked for Delta). He said if I gave him $800 in Target gift cards, he could cancel the credit card and recharge the cost of the ticket to the gift card. He explained there was a special promotion with Delta’s partner, Target, and this was a way he could access that promotion and offer a $200 discount on the original price. I didn’t see this lie for what it was, and I gave him the gift card numbers.
