The popup is a lengthy advertorial for the Secrets of Underground Medicine, a fraudulent medical newsletter by NewMarket Health Publishing, LLC under the business name of Natural Health Response, sold as a subscription model for:
- $74 every 6 months
- $89 per year
- $199 for a lifetime
User complaints on their Google listing indicate patterns of fraudulent activity, such as:
- Charging customers an additional $444 and not providing what was ordered.
- Creating misleading content to deceive victims into buying their “lifesaving products”
- Fraudulently posing as licensed medical professionals to sell fraudulent medical newsletters with information freely available over the Internet.
- Selling snake oil products under the business identity of the “Health Sciences Institute”
The company is actually one of many affiliates of Agora Financial, LLC that was sued by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on October 29, 2019 for tricking seniors into purchasing books, newsletters and other publications such as:
- The Doctor’s Guide to Reversing Diabetes in 28 Days, which falsely claims that type 2 diabetes was caused by NIR (Non-Iodizing Radiation) exposure from everyday electronic devices, and can be cured with a combination of mulberry, magnesium and chromium, or “Himalayan Silk, Epsom Blue and Chromanite”
- Lifetime Income Report/Congress’ Secret $1.17 Trillion Giveaway to Consumers, which falsely claims that consumers are “legally entitled” to hundreds of dollars per month in “Congressional/Republican checks” as long as they “claim” them by a certain date.
The codefendants named in the lawsuit are

- Health Sense Media, LLC
- Health Sense Publishing, LLC
- Dr. Richard Gerhauser
- Zachary Scheidt
A settlement was reached on February 8, 2021, with the defendants being ordered to pay over $2 million to settle the charges and provide refunds to defrauded customers, and be barred from making such false or unsupported claims, or making financial misrepresentations.
