Scam Number: (805) 618-2617
Carrier: Bandwidth.com
Call Center Location: United States of America
Answers as: “Home Warranty Division” or the “Advisory Group”
The scammers sent a “time sensitive” letter similar to the one pictured below, informing me that the property’s “home warranty may be expiring or have already expired.” The agents who answer the call will introduce themselves simply as “the Advisory Group,” but one I spoke to revealed that they were working on the behalf of Aegis Administration, LLC. which also operates as Hero Protects.
The company is accredited with the Better Business Bureau and is listed as operating out of 13801 Riverport Dr Ste 400, Maryland Heights, MO, 63043-4828 as “Aegis Home Protection” and 215 N Main St Saint Charles, MO 63301-2828.
User complaints on their Google and BBB listings indicate patterns of fraudulent activity, such as:
- Using every loophole imaginable to deny coverage
- Refusing to accept calls or offer refunds.
- Having company employees generate false positive reviews.
- Sending fraudulent postcards in the mail.
- Registering accounts under their victims identities even after they were told that the individual wasn’t interested or didn’t have the money to pay them.
- Falsely claiming their customers’ homes were insured under a trailer or section 5 housing when they live in a gated community.
