Active Recruiting scam - I have been contacted by a recruiter that was made to look like an inmail opportunity. It appeared to be scam material, so I played along, took a call to discuss the position. It’s pretty organized, spoofing a known firm, but all of my initial intel shows that its not legit and EmailHarvester shows me about 20+ individuals with emails that are interesting. I am supposed to reply back with information so they can create me a security code for the application process… (yeah right) - of course they asked for it on the phone call which I said I could not give on the phone… and no way this organization would handle HR information regarding PII in an open plain text file… I’m trying to plan next steps… Now that I’m into my 3rd yr of cyber with 20 years as IT specialist in utility management solutions, I’m ready to up the ante.
