A moment to thank you all.

Just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone involved here. I haven’t been scambaiting very long, went into it mostly blind with nothing but YouTube to go on. my grandmother was a victim of a long term scam that got her for thousands before she passed away, and I think about it all the time. I told myself I was going to be a person who did something to slow those people down, and after just a little research I was brought here. And I was shocked to find so, so many people working together to shut these people down. Thank you for spreading awareness, thank you for sharing the numbers and thank you for fighting this in the only way we can. It doesn’t feel like I’m just giving scammers a hard time anymore. thanks to everyone here, it feels more like a real fight.

Welcome to the scambaiting community.

@RecoverySloth29 welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forums @RecoverySloth29 !

Welcome aboard @RecoverySloth29 :tada: That was an awesome first post! I have a somewhat similar story that transformed me from a passive scambaiter (playing with them when they called me) to an active scambaiter in 2016.
If I can help in any way, don’t hesitate to ask.

Hello and Welcome :smiling_face:

MajorLeeAwesome: Once upon a time, I received 35 calls per day from mass marketers/scammers. (I cannot tell the difference anymore.) A few years ago, I began to waste their time, and I put the calls on YouTube. Yesterday I had six calls from strangers. It reminds me of that girl on the Woody Allen movie “Annie Hall” who said, “I once was a heroin addict. Now I’m a methadone addict.” :slight_smile:

Welcome @RecoverySloth29!
