A fake Windows Update scam

This one’s interesting. I was sent to a web page before this one which claims Windows was updating… in my web browser. Then I was sent to this page; https://theybyw.com/Windows-Update/OTP.php

It generates a random "One-time update code" which means absolutely nothing and uses the same phone number. If you don't want to visit the page (I am sure for a good reason) it's 844-441-9299.

Page is dead. Specific page is dead. https://theybyw.com/Windows-Update still goes to the fake update, minus the “OTUC”. It still redirects to the dead page.

As an extra nugget, the main domain is for a ghostwriting service. It appears fake af and may be a cover for something more sinister.

@rigby#64098 the link is the scam update thingy just wait 15 seconds and then it will direct you to the number

UPDATE - The OTP page is no longer in service. Bummer!
