COVID-19 Stimulus check scammer.
Tries to get personal information with promise of “Instant Check Deposit.”
I am a disabled person, but I have never once fallen for scam like this until today, even taking joy in scam baiting tech support ones with a virtual machine. This guy isn’t especially clever, he just understands that people can be especially desperate in this difficult time and takes advantage of this. I cannot express how much my need to pay bills and buy food clouded my judgement here, and despite being well versed in scam nonsense It was this that caused me to completely fall for it.
I was in serious need of my check which never came, having no funds and being disabled, it goes to show how manipulative and disgusting these people are. Finally snapped out of it and realized what was happening when he asked for pictures of my credit card.
Please don’t let him take advantage of anyone else.
@seapriestess#148117 I’m rarely at a loss for words (my poor husband!
), but I’m utterly DISGUSTED by your story! Just when I think these human stains couldn’t stoop any lower, I read this. It amazes me that horrible people would take advantage of others at their most vulnerable moment. People are sick & dying, but instead of coming together to help, they’re preying on that vulnerability. Please stay safe & vigil, and know that we are fighting back against these cockroaches!
@seapriestess#148117 This is a follow-up to my last message to you. I called the number you posted and it went to voicemail. I just got a call back from that number with a prerecorded message claiming to be from Amazon, & that they are getting ready to deduct a large amount of money from our account unless we want a refund. Obviously they are pulling different scams from the same number.
